I'm currently doing Maths Extension 1 but I chose to drop to Maths Advanced for year 12 and I'm still finding it really hard. I failed my first task by getting around 70% and I'm not sure how well the scaling for the subject is because I'm also doing very average for the rest of my subjects. Maths has always been one of my weakest subjects and I've tried studying for it but nothing just seems to click whenver I try to do math problems alone. Currenlty I'm stuck with 11 units and if anyone has any advice, I'd greatly appreciate it!!

based off of your assessment task think- why did i lose marks and how can i change how i study next time?
maybe you didn't expose yourself to more difficult kinds of questions, maybe you neglected a topic, maybe you need to brush up on some rules. whatever it is, i don't think it's anything too severe since you're still scoring in the 70s and i think it's still possible to do well from now on.

and just to clarify, are you on 11 units before dropping ext 1?

I think you should revise on Functions. It is almost always because year 11 content is not well known or understood, hence making year 12 almost impossible.
Thanks. Would you have any tips for studying maths or like having a study schedule consistently?

When learning a new concept, try sticking to the easy repetitive textbook questions where questions are only slightly varied from each other, just to get the rule/ concept/ formula e.t.c. into your head. Then once you're practically bored to death from those repetitive questions, expose yourself to more complex ones to see how said concept is utilised. Typically math questions love to merge topics together, so learn how said concept can be found in questions where more than one topic is tested if that makes sense
