i'm currently doing combined commerce (majoring in actuarial) and advanced maths but i've been contemplating changing to law. i applied for the internal transfer into law/commerce and got in but i'm still not sure which degree to choose. if i did law i would drop my actuarial major and change to finance
i have until january 3rd to decide and i'm reeeally confused at the moment
which degree do you think will have the most appeal to employers when i graduate? i want to work somewhere in the banking/finance industry but i have no preferences as to whether my job would be more focused in the law or the maths area
other thing is i love maths and i'm thinking i might miss it if i didn't do it anymore, whch would happen if i changed to law (sad i know). but at the same time i wonder if the maths courses will get more boring as my degree progresses. can anyone tell me from experience?

so, thoughts? law or maths?

why on earth do ppl love the advanced maths option so much...its so restrictive...anyway, in terms of employability, finance law is good, and has maximum employability if ur aiming for the finance industry. on the contrary, maths gets so much more interesting after first year (in my opinion at least), i just graduated from a double degree in actuarial, maths and stats with actuarial honors, so I've actually been through the courses you are about to do.

if u do finance and law however, since u say u love maths, say goodbye to any maths that is higher level than year 11 2 unit maths, finance courses are notorious for requiring very little maths (and the stuff that does require math, they just give u the formula and tell u to mindlessly bash it out, or they get it wrong (i.e. the misconception that correlation 0 implies independence...)).
