What did you guys get for the maths correct/incorrect question about Helen and this other person.

Was "... is north AND east of Helen" correct?

I got confused by the word AND cos isn't it suppose to be "north-east"?

I think I put the ones with AND all incorrect.

considering they went south west and south east.. its a bit hard to be north of someone, only north east/north west is the only north you could be o_O

Yea all of the "and" ones I put incorrect. Only c correct. but not sure, I changed it like 2 times.

If it was North-east instead of "north and east" then it could be right. Cos it doesn't say that they're both travelling at the same speed. THus one can be north-east of the other. Its just the "and" wording I'm not sure of.

Also, for the "two cars travel at different speeds - 60km/h and 80km/h, what is the distance between them 15 minutes before they pass each other", what did you get?

I got 35km.

it should be all correct cause it didnt say how far they travelled so they could've taken a step

Yea but the important thing is, DOES "north AND east" mean "north-east"?

actually if you draw it out..they can't be "exactly" north-east or south-west of each other. because you end up with them leaving at right angles (and the question did say they left point A). try drawing right angle like /\ and then see if one can be directly north-east of another..

thats why i got confused at the wording :S

What about that question in the incorrect/correct section where they gave you two angles and the other angle was the sum of those two angles..

Could that angle have been right-angled?
obtuse-angled?
reflex angle?
straight-angle?
