Maximum torque occurs when the plane of the coil is parallele to the magnetic feild.

You know the rectangle coils, the two long sides are always perpendicular hence always have a fforce.
However its the two ends of the coils that have the varying force and torque. So when we use the formulas for torque and force we caclualate them for the ends of the coils not the long sides that will ALWAYS experience a force?
