I have to write an essay on modernism and discuss a couple of points on things such as the invention of the camera, the avant garde etc and how it impactd the development of modernism.
however i'm stuck on two points

- the artist as genius
- cultural attitudes to progress - this one is pretty easy, but i would like someone to point out the main ones.. like what political upheavals was involved
