Im having a hard time trying to choose between UNSW or USYD for mechatronic engineering.

I know that UAI cut-offs dont reflect quality of the courses, but how come such a big gap difference. UNSW - 78.10 and USYD -92.25

Does this mean that the USYD is more popular for this particular course.

Could someone tell me abt how many ppl (undergraduates) enrolled for mechatronics at UNSW in 2005.

in the year 2004, I heard that USYD's Mechatronic Degree focus on Electronics, whereas UNSW's Mechatronic Degree focus on Mechanical stuff. That's all I know.

true yeah usyd has a higher cut off because they cant accept as many students as unsw can thats why their uai is higherits like inflation (demand and supply)

mech accept about 200 people at unsw

mechatronix at usyd accept like 50

also keep in mind unsw mechatronix engineering is mechanical, you end up with engineering majoring what ever you chose( because you study core subjects for 3 years and then choose which ever disclipine you wanted for the final year)

where as at usyd mechatronix is specialisation in that dislipine straight away

The USyd degree is split pretty evenly between the three disciplines that make up mtrx (computers, circuits and mechanics).,

1st yr is a bit more expensive i think and from 2nd yr onwards, we're paying around 493 this yr for compulsory subscription. 1st yr shouldnt be that big a difference
