Apparently Dean Devlin (the guy who produced Independence Day and The Patriot) has been sourced to direct/produce one. No info on it of late, but I'm hopeful. Unfortunately Wizkids (new owners of the license) will set the movie in their 'Dark Age' universe, set 70 years after the events of the FedCom Civil War of 3070.

Mechwarrior V was reported to have ceased development before FASA closed for good in 2003. The game has been picked up by some other developer and is being made in super secret.
