Has anyone got any info in the mail? I am looking forward to it! Anyone here in second year this year that can give us an insight into what to expect?

I just got the medcamp form in my email.

I think they are also posting out the forms, with a timetable for MedPrep in the coming week.

Medcamp is awesome fun!

You get to meet and greet most of the rest of the year, and basically spend a crazy weekend with an enthusiastic bunch of second years (and they are the most enthusiastic - we had a really hard time choosing people for medcamp this year, cause everyone wanted to go). It's standard initiation camp stuff/rules, which means you'll probably be crawling to the second-years/doing bad karaoke/eating something foul before long. But the best part is meeting all the people in your year (which I have heard is a good bunch) and the dance party on the last night where you dress up in bedsheet togas and guzzle free alcohol all night is pretty sweet. For a lot of people, medcamp is what they remember with most fondness in first year. So make sure you go!

by the way yewon i dont think i can go down to AMSA this year...given that its costs friggin 500 bucks for a week of drunken partying, and on my frugal med student, government sponsored budget i cannot afford to go....anyhows, if u have the money then u should go...looks like alotta fun~ excellent 'networking' opportunity too hehe

Med camp was good but not many "stories" to tell. Iron gut competitions - i dun wanna go into the details of what they made people eat - and other food related games etc etc

Toga party was good - shame it rained the whole time

Better than UNCLE camp...ours didnt go ahead coz of rain so we all dropped by Finnegan's (the local brewery) for an assortment of food and beverages.
