is it worth doing...i've been hearing that its crap shit boring and hard to find a job but i'm still interested..although i wont get the marks to get in it....
lol true...might be because of the government capitalising on the fact that the degree is basically a BGamsat (as robert (lexi) put it) and people not realising it has no inherent advantage over BSciplus!!! it cost the same as medcine i think
Not true. Medsc subjects usually falls under band 2 hecs, with the exception of Perspective in Medical science I and II (band 3).inasero said:lol true...might be because of the government capitalising on the fact that the degree is basically a BGamsat (as robert (lexi) put it) and people not realising it has no inherent advantage over BSci
*sighs* I think i know my course juuuuust a little bit better than you do. Genetics subjects are from the School of Biological Science, all their subjects are band 2. Biochem/microbiology are from the School of Biomolecular Science, which also are band 2. The only subjects that are band 3 are people doing medicine and law. Those are offered by the faculty of medicine. And even in medicine, some subjects are under band 2, including most anatomy subjects.Lexicographer said:But that's because you're first year, doing the generic science subjects right? Once you get to specialised medical science subjects (immunology, hæmatology etc) you'll pay band 3.
I thought by now you should understand hecs are calculated base on subjects, not the course.... Those are offered by the school of medical sciences... not all med sc subjects in unsw are offered by the school of medical science...check the unsw handbook.Lexicographer said:Check the HECS guidelines. In Band III are Medicine, Law, Veterinary Science and Medical Science.
