Medicare- was brought in to eliminate health inequities and make health facilities accessible to all Australians. Medicare advantage is that it is cheap and afforable,so low socio economic families can have access to health. Disadvantage is waiting lists can be long to recieve treatment and facilities are not as good.

Private HC - Private health care is expensive, but good for those who can afford it. Facilities such as hospitals are much nicer and generally there are no waiting lists. Alot of desirable surgery such as some cosmetic surgery and dental surgery can be partially covered be Private health insurance. Disadvantage is the cost.
