Ok cool. People were saying we had to know the work of an Aussie scientist.
How sure are they of that??

Also - in how much detail?

I dunno, I'd never heard of having to know any particular scientist before. I only know those that are included in the syllabus.

Does it actaually have in the core syllabus that we need to know an Australian scientist? I can't find a single dot point that says that.

I think they can ask for practicing aussie scientists, there's minimal detail to remember about the two I posted anyway.

Clarke: Invented cochlear implant and is currently researching on how to improve it.
Santini: Microbiologist who is researching bacteria which can convert arsenic into less harmful chemicals.

It won't be, I don't think. They can just ask for a name, a field and a brief outline of their research.

9.1 is mainly skills, so safety precautions (if in doubt, wear goggles and gloves) etc. One male, one female, practicing, living Australian scientists and their work.

Macfarlane-Burnett has passed away, so he cannot be used for this dp.
