does anyone have any good notes on method of sections...or any good links i can go to?....our engineering teacher hasn't really explained it properly and its pretty confusing..so yeh...anyone???

ok scan or post up a question and ill go thru step by step with you.

basically what you are doing is passig a huge cutting plane through a truss and assuming all forces are tensile. Thereafter, calculate forces in each member by taking moments around points.

Its difficult to explain and understand in verbal form, I know. Copeland has very good explanations.

ay thanks man but dont worry bout it now....by chance our teacher went through it today because a bunch of guys asked to go through it and he did....it was so much easier than i thought :)
