Wholly owned Subsidiary - A business purchases a business, property or asset outright (as in, not just controlling interest, but, as the name suggests, 'wholly'). A business can also establish their own subsidiary overseas.

Joint Venture - Joining with a business sharing in its operations. In some countires, this is a prerequisite to enter the market (Joint venture with a local business, this discourages international exploitation or entry into the market that detracts from the economy (as profits would generally not remain in the country)).

Hopefully this is what you meant, If you were looking for actual business' to use as case studies, sorry, cant help there .

hey, i thought methods of international expansion was like exporting, FDI, leasing/franchising, management contract and relocation of production??

FDI can be in three forms - Strategic Alliance, Joint Venture or Wholly Owned Subsidiary
