Chapter 2 exercises - all done except the ones I need R for
Chapter 3 exercises - all done except for two or three
Chapter 4 exercises - all done except for three
Chapter 5 exercises - trudging through that now, four or five questions to go - some are very... bad

You know it's bad when you get this thing to work with:

*gulp*

Pretty good considering that two days ago I only did like half of Chapter 3 and one question from Chapter 2.

From what book are these chapters from?

Also, that looks an awful lot like the Bivariate Probability Density Function...

The Theory of Stats (MATH2801/2901) course pack. Not a book.

And yes that is the Bivariate Probability Density function.

Part a was fine, which was if p = 0 (i know p isn't rho but anyway...), then X and Y are independent. That was good.

And then part b is like "show the conditional distribution of Y is..." *insert ugly expression here*

And I'm thinking 'lol yeah... not doing that'.

If I recall correctly (First Year), there are two expressions for the conditional distribution depending on whether the random variables are discrete or continuous..

This one is the continuous case.

But umm... yeah this sort of stuff is putting me off stats somewhat =P

How poker faced were the judges? Did you see any deluded people who had no chance?

The judges were shit. No emotion in them at all. They were like, come in, do your part, 30 seconds. After that, gtfo. :S

Besides that, the venue was good for singers, but shit for dancers. And adding to that, tonnes of people who can't actually sing but try out anyway :p
