Who is up for this course provided by USYD next year?

I am so interested in this but I think I am little late for the application. :mad1:

Would anyone (who was an ex-student) provide some good information on this program?

Nah, I don't think so. Our school's gifted and talented program teacher said that I can enrol...and yes, I am actually confused as to what she really meant.

We were offered this in Year 10 or something. Don't think anyone took it up though :p

It may be worth doing though, as you get 6 credit points or something if you decide study there in uni.

Interesting, what do their libraries have?

Seems kinda like Extension History.. Except in a non-historical context :D

i assume (as it's provided by USyd) that the university library being spoken of is the Fisher Library.

No, it doesn't really have HSC resources (ie. textbooks, studyguides) as such, you would be better off going to your school or local library for those materials.

What uni libraries offer though, is access to weighty academic works, and this is really helpful for research purposes. Ie. English Extension 2, History Extension, Society and Culture etc...

There are many books held at uni libraries not widely available either because it is a very specialised text on an obscure topic, or because it is out of general circulation.

In general, unless you're taking the above subjects (or a humanities subject requiring research) then i can't see a real need for access to a university library like Fisher or Macquarie.

*sigh* too bad it's too late to enter, especially seeing as i am using the Fisher library for extension history and i am not bothered enough to pay $50 for a year to borrow books =="

I just finished the course a few weeks ago, it's a very interesting course and it rreeally hones your essay skills and how to articulate an argument. Another plus is I do use fisher library for extension 2 and extension history
