I know there is already a thread on a similar topic to this, but I am a little confused about the concept of modelling reactions.

Q29(e) of the 2004 CSSA Trial reads,
"Modelling is used in chemistry to represent chemical reactions and explain concepts. Discuss the features of a model you have used to demonstrate the effect of changing concentration on an equilibrium reaction".

To me this seems to suggest some sort of abstract model simulation, not an actual experiment.

However, the syllabus only requires us to, "identify data, plan and perform a first-hand investigation to model an equilibrium reaction".

Do you think I am right in saying that CSSA has gone beyond what is required by the syllabus? Would describing an equilibrium experiment (eg. NO <> NO2, or chromate<>dichromate) be sufficient to answer this?
