I'm just wondering if anyone could me write a skeleton (basic structure) of an essay that I need to write on Macbeth (I really want to do good in this essay):

'Explore two different critical interpretations of Macbeth and Lady Macbeth's characters. You must also include your own response, backed up by close analysis of the Play.

-Critical Analysis' from A.C. Bradley
-CAs' from Jan Koh

well... i'm presuming you're referring to AC Bradley's notes on Shakespearean Tragedy..? If that's the case, you only have one analysis - Macbeth as a tragedy.

I have no idea who Jan Koh is...

Here are some other possible readings, you might want to base your own response upon.

feminist (gender bender thing) - is macbeth a 'man', is lady macbeth a 'woman'
freudian - on dreams, on morality, on madness (macbeth is 'mad', while lady macbeth goes 'mad' and sleepwalking scene)
nietzsche-ian? - the superman - triumph of fate, destiny etc - since hs took power through disruption of natural order, macbeth is destined to be... well... dead...

tip: don't skim through a lot of issues... explore one or two thorougly - otherwise it will be an typically superficial 'critical' response
