My CRT monitor has been playing up for the last couple of weeks. At first it was just going bright then dull over and over again, but now it goes completely blank - at which point i turn it off and on again and it works fine for the rest of the night.
I can live with it being the way it is for a while (to be fair it is over 3 years old and i should have an LCD one by now) Has this happened to anyone else?
Does anyone know what could be wrong with it, and if it will get any worse?

i have something wrong with my monitor as well and it sometimes 'clicks' or blinks or something then suddenly the screen has a green tinge to it, which is annoying and then just as i get used to it it changes back and it's normal again! it's weird!

perhaps because my pc is old as well?

CRTs have a nasty tendency to muck up since they use the exact same technology as ur good ol telly...i had one till last yr...we found dat if there was a green tinge dat der was static inside so we opened it up and vacuumed d tube and the tinge went away..but well mine died after 6 years of service and ive been on LCD since..less bulkier and far easier to run.......then again i dont see dat much CRT monitors being built or sold
