Ooh good one. I also like Cut Here, lyrically quite sad.

And yeah, as people have mentioned, Jimmy Eat World. 'Kill' is pretty special to me...it's more cathartic than depressing, especially hearing it live.

oh, I have heard his version before....but somehow I thought it sounded different from the one played at the beginning of the movie (where Ewan McGregor was typing the story..)
similar voice but the sound effect seemed a bit diff. I liked what I heard in the movie.
maybe it's just my twisted perception oh well
listening to the entire song gives me creeps
cuz at the end it gets louder and LOUDER and stronger it sounds so scary I don't know why.
ohhhh yeah. bowie did the soundtrack version, but not the one at the start at the film.

These are the main ones
Everybody Here Wants You- Jeff Buckley
Freshman- Verve Pipe
Losing My Religion- REM
All Of This- Blink 182 Ft. Robert Smith
Comfortably Numb-Pink Floyd
Love the songs, hate what they remind me of. But depending on what i'm upset/ depressed/ etc. about it could be different. I have a stupid tendency to attach songs to memories and people

Omg, I love that song so much :( When George died and Eric Clapton and Paul McCartney played it live for him, I almost started crying :(

Some sad songs that come to mind

Hallelujah - Jeff Buckley or Rufus Wainwright

Lover, You Should've Come Over - Jeff Buckley or Jamie Cullum. More Jeff than Jamie, really.

I Knew I Loved You - The song is not so obviously sad but it used to depress me so much back in Yr 7 or so.

Father and Son (or something like that) by Cat Stevens. This song will get me each and every time :( . Reflective songs make me feel so miserable.

Can't think of anymore.

a lot of Deja Entendu is really depressing

eg Play Crack The Sky
I like Sic Transit Gloria, Glory Fades - its got such a punch in the lyrics.

But yes, I agree

All I can think of is Stupid - Sarah McLachlan, but I'll try better next time.

Over My Head by The Fray
When I'm feeling sad I listen to it and I bawl my eyes out. I don't know why I listen to it when it just makes me feel worse.
