Just wondering if anyone knows of a book more screwed up than 'The Life and Oppions of Tristram Shandy' By Sterne. I had to read it for Uni, and hope to god that it's the worst out there.

Not having read it, I have no idea. Maybe you want to give us a little more information about it first :p

Personally the most screwed over book I've read is Kafka On the Shore by Haruki Murakami. It's very good though.

Basically, the main character (who narrates it) isn't born until chapter 7. Then there are huge digressions concerning the passing of narrative time, hobby horses and the influence of classic texts. And lastly there are black pages, marble pages, diagrams illustrating the plot, foreords in volume 7, dedications in the middle of chapters and blank pages where youdraw your own ideal woman....

It's really tedious, but would otherwise be a pretty funny read.
