MRS DALLOWAY QUOTE: HELP!! (1 Viewer)

Hey everyone!

I am currently doing Mod A in English Advanced, and we are doing a comparative study of Mrs Dalloway and The Hours. I am planning on utilising temporal fluidity/fear of death as a theme, but I can't find a technique for this quote!! Other then a metaphor does anyone have any ideas??? Sorry if I sound dumb, I have my analysis sorted but it's just the technique I'm struggling with!

“She feared time itself…the dwindling of life, how year by year her share was sliced”

I'm not too sure about the context of this quote, but there appears to be some half-rhyme of "life" and "sliced" to perhaps emphasise the point being made? also, u could maybe talk about the soft, rhythmic sound arising from the combination of assonance and alliteration of "sh" and "s".
