I've never liked the norton that comes with new PC's. They do screw up lots.

Havn't had bad experiences with McAfee or Trend Micro or AVG.

Currently using... I'd better not say :p

Fair point.

Businesses rely on IE and Outlook. (Assuming you're referring to those programs as the 'inferior').

It's quite an effort to put in SOE's for medium-large sized businesses. And placing in better software will create a lot of trouble with the non-IT managers.

Sorry to say, but IE and Outlook (NOT EXPRESS), do do a good job.
And when computers get hi-jacked, it gives Helpdesk some work to do :p

Anyway, I use DAP (d/l Accelerator Plus) to d/l all my files. Once files have been downloaded, Norton used to automatically scan these files before they were officially placed on the desktop. Once I deleted Norton, an error message comes up everytime I finish d/l something. It says it can't find norton...like duhhh...

how do i make avg my default virus scanner and get rid of the stoopid message?

AVG Properties has the option of scanning particular files or not, but does not let me choose my default virus scanner?
