yeah, but what apollo says is true, as in, photo 3 had a scale of like 1:1000 or watever, while photo 2 was say 1:20000, which means photo 3 literally has the smaller scale

The first 4 questions of multiple choice were sweet. In reading time I'd only looked at the essays, so i thought i was crusien. Then i noticed that silly little map, aka source C, it had montrosity written all over it.

I put photo 3- was it the building? Smallest scale means that 1 cm represents the smallest area. Anyway, I get really confused with scales.

What was the answer to the question where we had to calculate the time taken to travel that distance?

I put 30 minutes as the answer, coz I used my trusty piece of string to measure the distance as about 7.5km, and at 14km/hr, would take about half an hour to go 7.5km

Just to clear things up, I think many people are confused with the concept, (it took me a while to figure it out)

I'll quote from my trusty Geography skills book:
"Large scale maps show a small area of land"

"Small scale maps show a large area of land. Examples of small scale maps are maps of a country or state and atlas maps

THE DEFINTION OF SMALL SCALE MAPS

I was looking through an old text book and found these definitions:
Large scale maps show a small area of land but provide alot of detail of the features found in the area. EG 1 in 25000

Small scale maps show a large area of land but with less detail to the features found in the area. Eg country maps or state maps.

Therefore with this defintion the answer is photo 2. My other naswers were

1. c
2. b
3. a
4. b
5. d
6. b
7. b
8. a
9. b
10. c
11. c
12. d
13. d
14. b
15. a

question 12, yeah the increase was 100%

Does anyone else think that the damage on the building in photo 3 in Source B looks a bit fake? There are 2 smashed holes in the windows which look totally fake, and the grafitti looks like it could've been super-imposed...=S
