multiple coice...WTF?

okay, lookin at some anwsers, i gotta ask: 4 sulfuric acid log, isnt it b cause (H) is 0.1 times 2 cause is diprotic. that gives 0.2. then do -log(0.2) you get 1.
secondly, with ques 12, repeating improves accuracy! correct me if im wrong!

i think it was alright, not too hard. expecting 10/15 for it. i always get about 10 or 11 sometimes 12 out of 15 on pass papers. so real hsc is no exception

I found most of it pretty easy, but I found about two questions insanely difficult, particularly that last question which was uneccessarily hard...it took me about 3 minutes to figure out what exactly the question was asking. I wrote down my multiple choice results on my hand cos I had some extra time at the end.

They were:

B
C
B
D
B
A
C
B
B
C
A
B
C
C
B

taxman got C for 14, and midnight got A... i got D..

reason:
river source will have highest dissolved oxygen, thus will be 2.
limestone quarry .. .limestone is basic, thus ph will be the highest, which is 3
which means that the town is 1
so D

What's wrong with my reasoning?

exactly, i had that with the same reasoning, i think there're no doubt it's A or D, i went with the limestone making it more basic. so yeah. my vote goes to D

That was the same as I got with basically the same reasoning except I said there would be a lot of micro-organisms from the town sewerage thus high BOD, thus Town was 1

It was definitely the hardest multiple-choice session I have done. I got Q1 wrong (wrote D (electrons : neutrons) instead of B (protons : neutrons)).

And 15 was A (0.15).

I got exactly the same as you. Go us :D

Except I just realised that 14 is D. In the rush of the exam I read the lower pH as it meaning it was basic... good work Simon.

Some were annoyign and hard, although if you worked at them, some seemed to come out... What was the answer for the buffer one?? Mostly ok, and straigtforward

q 15

for q15 wouldnt it be 1.2? for O2?D

Since if O2 = 1.2 then MnO...is .6 1mole of O2 = 2x Mole of MnO = .6
then MnO...=I2

then it halves again to give 0.6.
i also has the other reasoning where if O2 = .15 then it doubles 2wice.

Edit: dw, i got confused with molar ratios >< i think i did it with most of the molar ratio stuff. 2NO2 -> N2O4 as well. Hope they're lenient on marking.

Lol they were easy...but I dunno about question one...radioactivity isnt about too many neutrons and protons is about raito of neutrons: protons. So D is the answer because too many electrons = too many protons for the number of neutrons...I think anyway? My answers were: D, C, B, D, B, A, C, A, D, C, A, B, C, A, A...
