hey there

im currently studying music one with the module of 'Music for Small Ensembles'
im searching for some songs to analyse to showmy teacher how my skills are developing and all that jazz (no pun intended)

but if anyone has any ideas, feel free to hit me up!! :-D

My ideas about what constitutes a small ensemble may be way off, but these pieces were the ones that sprung to mind

Serenade for Tenor, Horn and Strings - Benjamin Britten

Pierrot Lunaire - Arnold Schoenberg

Quatuor pour la fin du Temps - Olivier Messiaen

Ebony Concerto - Igor Stravinsky (Ensemble may be too large, but this would be a good one because apparently it parodies the fundamentals of jazz)

you could also look at miles davis' Flamenco Sketches, its such a beautiful piece that uses the technique of free improvisation. You could also take a look at some of his other works on his album "Kind of Blue".
