unsw has a good music department. They have the bmus/arts and bmus/ed which is good cos then u get more career oportunities.

for the audition, u have to play 2 contrasting pieces with accompaniment, and sing 1 unaccompanied song, even if ur not a singer. Then u have to an aural test which goes for about an hour. WHen u apply u have to send in ur references, etc with a questionaire which can be downloaded from the unsw website.

dont worry i sang Tonight from West Side Story and i full stuffed it up cos i sang all the wrong words but they stopped me in the middle of the song. So yeah its only very short. Ok, im the worstestestest singer ever, but i still passed the audition so you have nothing to worry about.

okay, so i admit when it comes to learning new instruments it's preedy easy for me as i use piano as the basis...
BUT..but, when it comes to singing.........i am WAAAAAY off.
how long does the audition have to be?
'cos i'm trying out for the syd con too, and apparently that's 50mins.
i shall die in the next 7 months!

OMG you dont understand!!!!!! Stop stressing!!!!!! hehehehe
ummmmm.... the auditions were pretty short at unsw - they were like 10-15 mins, including 2 performance pieces, 30 seconds of singing, and a 2 minute interview. It was reaaaaalllly quick. And my con audition was no more than 20 mins.. although i spose it depends on what instrument your doin... but yeah the auditions are after your hsc, and by then you would be sooooo used to performing and stuff...
