Can someone please work out my estimate uai?..
i do ... 5 units history [modern, ancient and extension history]. 3 units english [english advance and extension] legal studies and society and culture..

how do these subjects scale in the hsc?
im confused about the whole "aligned marks" and ranking etc.

overall .. i can i say im coming in the top 5 in all my subjects.

we worked out our overall assessment marks
modern history = 91.4
ancient history = 90.1
advance english = 92
extension english = 78.5
extension history = around 78 also
society and culture = around 85
legal studies = high 80's.

any help is greatly appreciated

No one can predict your UAI if they don't know what school you go to.

Hahaha.. funny stuff.

Although I can totally understand people getting pissed off at these threads. There are at least seven of them started every day. Not to mention that we also have SAM and the 05 estimator on the site...

How about using the search button?

im actually confused about schools...
going to a disadvantaged school.. does that ultimately help your uai or disadvantage it?

how important is the school anyway?

also, does anyone know anything about subject scaling?... my subjects are above... im confused as hell about the whole process
there is no actual disadvantaged school as far as i know a public school just avergaes your marks for the uai whilist a selective school with above average students have their marks averaged plus upscaled automatically because they may be ranked low in their calss but they are possibly higher ranked than those in public schools!! wow all this is too "educational" i better smoke weed to average it out hahahah!!! :)

It depends how hard your school marks. eg. If you go to a selective school, and you're coming first in a subject with a mark of 75, and ace the HSC, then you will be advantaged because clearly the school marks harder.

It won't really disadvantage you too much. I went to a western suburbs school and the highest UAI in 2003 was 99.05. It was 98.45 last year.

If you go well in your subjects relative to everyone else, the chances are you'll get scaled up for the subjects that are deemed to scale up.
