My first HSC total breakdown... eep. Help with appeal forms? (1 Viewer)

relax my friend!

the otehr day i had my ext1 maths exam.. 30%.. had studied on total about 3 hrs???
couldnt remember formulas for my life!
felt as if i didnt know a thing..
i also had modern that day.. and i had spent 2131203213 hrs doing ww1 which was predominately a soure based q[didnt need too much of ur own knowledge] and hadnt opened a book on Germany [the thing i needed to write a 25 mark essay on...


that morning i woke up to study at 4... and spent an hr in bed trying to think of ways to break my leg/injure myself.. so that i could put the test offf.....


i figured if i did [bash my hand against a wall or soemting.. so that i could have another day off..] that god would end up getting me back by making it permanent...

so i went to school and copped it like all the rest..
[despite me nearly wanting to break down.. and bash myself..]

and you know what? maths as easy peasy!
so much easier than i expected..
[i stillgot slaughtered in history.. but for the purposes of affirmation.. lets pretend that i did brilliantly..]
things are never as bad as they seem..
soon this will all be a distant memory..
take it as it comes.. don;t over intellectualize things.. or stress over them too much...

regardless of what happens...
i doubt we'll be telling our grandkids about how we got 93 as a UAI instead of the 99.65 we were destined to get

is OCD a form of autism that occurs at different stages of ur life? i know a person with OCD who has this thing where he needs to wash his hands like 5 timesto be satisfied of being clean. maybe u shouldnt worry about OCD, maybe just resist for 1year?

Nope. It's a disorder that affects information proccessing in the brain. I think it can be a short trm disorder for some people... I've had it as long as I can remember though.
It's not autism. The hand washing thing is a classic OCD symptom...
Anyway....
I'm NOT going to do the HSC over two years because I know I couldn't stand that... and I am NOT going to drop out or I know I'll feel hopeless and I'll be letting this stuff rule my life. Erk.

this is a no-brainer. go to the doctor that referred you to the specialist for your dr's certificate. This puts you in the clear. it is a good idea to pursue the issue further, let teachers know, speak to school councilor, remember the HSC is only a game. Teachers have heard everything, taught pregnant kids or kids whose parents are drug addicts. They have seen it all before and I hope want to help or dont deserve the money they get.

That would seem to be the obvious solution... *but* the specialist hasn't sent any information regarding me back to my refering doctor in years so he doesn't have any solid evidence that I do have these disorders and therefore can't give me a certificate. I have to go see the specialist (who I dislike imensely aha) and that will take about two months to get an appointment.
Most of my teachers have been working their entire career at our very small christian school.... I would imagine they haven't seen too many students in the situations you've described lol (during their teaching career that is).

Have you talked about it with your teachers? cause they surprisingly turn into human beings in year 12... you should never feel bad about applying for stuff like special provisions. It's not for people taking the easy way out. That's definitely not what you're doing! It's there for people who genuinely need it, and teachers are not all out to get you working 24/7. They actually (mostly) really want to help you through this year, and if all this stuff is affecting you, they will understand!

Yeah they do wanna help you, well the teachers at my school want to help me i had a breakdown before my english exam last week (due other shit like family crap happening) and the teachers have been so helpful and supportive over it. i think the deupty principal is going to see if i can apply for special provisions just to get like extra time and all.

and this is from someone doing med? lol. I heard that first semester has been blissful so far for med students. i think they are just trying to settle you guys down before it gets to the crunch time!
But I'm finding my course a bit bludgy too.

Jesykka, don't give up you WILL get through this. i went through the stages of thinking maybe-i-should-repeat-yr-12-because-I'm-hopeless attitude, but you will comeout the other side. don't give up!
