i want to do chemical engineering at UNSW, i read in the handbook that they assumed that you need to have a combined mark of 100 in 2U and 3U.....
the thing is i only did 2 unit for my HSC course, but i got 86, will i struggle in this course?
also they have topics like complex numbers, etc which sound like 4unit topics to me (from the top of my head).........
any suggestions?

regards,
philip

You might want to look at doing bridging courses.

86 is a decent mark for 2u, you should be fine, just do a 3u bridging course.

instead of a bridging course you can learn by yourself

yeah i got a similar problem,i am in a B eng(electrical)/B Science(physics) i am deciding to whether to enrol in higher maths 1a( math1141) or mathematics 1a(math1131). I got 89 in 2u maths last year and 41/50 in 3 unit last year. I did the cola assessment and got really bad marks.... and i dont know why?

is higher maths 1a incredibly hard for a average 3u student?

ok then so mathematics 1a would prolly be a better choice.
Also are there any general education courses that you should do for elec engineering, or do you do that later in the degree? i engineering mainly just a fixed first year(like what it says in the program 3640, you dont have to pick other courses)?
