I am in Year 11 right now and I have been more worried over these years as workload becomes more intense ... anyway

My subjects are

English Standard
Mathematics 3 Unit
Information Processes and Technology (IPT)
Physics
Chemistry
Sport, Life & Recreation (SLR)*

*Board Endorsed Course, the rest are Board Developed

I heard if you undertake Physics and Extension 1 Mathematics you get scaled up some marks but
English Standard (thanks to my substandard literacy, language and crative writing skills) scales you down by a few marks ...

Is this all true ?

And who here is currently studying at least 8 units similar to mine ?

look around before you post next time. scaling means nothing if you do well.

f3nr15, welcome to the BOS forums! :)

ur subjects will scale u down or up depending upon how well u do in those subjects. even in 3U maths, if u stuff up, it will not scale very well. if you do well, then negative scaling will not affect you at all.

so, the golden rule: always try ur very very very very best, learn from your mistakes! u have a year to make mistakes before the final year 12 that counts towards ur UAI!

Depends how well you do in each of those subjects, if you do bad in physics and MX1, then you won't get much or any scaling. And you can also do really well in standard english as long as you put in time and effort

English Adv and English Standard get scalled the same so dont worry. You should not be concerned about scalling, you dont automatically get scalled up because u do a particular subject you get scalled in that subject depending on your performance.
