Is this a fact or a myth...

You can only get into UNSW if your UAI is 98.00+ no matter how good your UMAT and/or Interview

it's just that it'll help a lot if you get 99.8 or something
the ones who get in with low uais are the ones who do really well in the UMAT and interview

and doing exceptionally well in the umat isnt that common

That's not quite true. It is certainly possible to gain a place with a UAI below 98.00 and there are plenty of students there now to prove it.

However, if you are not rural and don't qualify for consideration due to disadvantage, then in the past you did need either a predicted or actual UAI of 98.00 or greater to receive an interview offer. Whether this continues to be the case I don't know, but it would surprise me if things have changed.

If I were "suggesting" something then I wouldn't just come out and meet your question with the affirmitive now would I? :rolleyes:

No, UNSW is very clear with their published course entry requirements. However, this is not the same as the criteria regarding interviews.
