how do I name this carbon compound?

CH3-CHBr-CH2-CHOH-CH2-CH3
I know its a hexanol..but where to put the numbers?
In the case of the side chain Br do you suppose to number them left to right, Br being 2 and the OH group 4?

thanks

The hydroxyl group takes precedence over the halo group so the hydroxyl group is given the lowest number.
5-bromohexan-3-ol

basic naming priorities

you start counting from the side which is closest to
1. a double/triple bond
2. a chain branch
3. hydroxyl group
4. anything else (ie halogens)

when writing it out
its in aphabetical order ending
ie. bromo comes before chloro even though it may be further from where you started counting
