It means "idiot". It's just your swiss-army-insult in Japanese, fits any situation.

Also, my uncle in the US called (he's a petroleum geologist) and told me the starting salary for Nanotech grads there is US$60,000 per annum. Lucky bastards, I'm transferring first chance.

Sort of (Usyd question) but it's not as good as UTS Nanotech. At UTS there's a specialised degree program for Nanotech, whereas at USyd it's just a bunch of subjects thrown together and called a Nanotech major.

My brother is in his 3rd year of Nanotech at UTS, they were the first year to do the course. He started in innovations (only for the $2000 scholarship), then dropped to straight nanotech. Theres about 7 people in his course, alot dropped out or transferred.
He seems to enjoy it, i cant say that i understand what its about though, he just says its a combination of chem, physics and maths, and they get to play with million dollar microscopes.
I'm not sure about the job market, he said in Australia its a bit small, he'll probably do Honours and maybe an education degree to give himself some time for jobs to come up.

You went to Nanotech enrollment?

I was the guy with the birds on his collar! I was sitting there listening to the radio for ages, waiting for my friend to come out.

Yeah, I had the phone in my pocket listening to ABC Classic FM. Had I walked a bit down Harris St I could have sit in the ABC foyer and listened to it there.

Anyway, here's me: image removed

Ah. Well, I turned up early with my friend and his mother, got him to the head of the line about 5 minutes early and waited hunched over at the end of the seats (closest to the door).

A close call it was!
