Look at it this way statistically themore housework a man does the more he gets laid. Maybe because now both man and woman have spare time as opposed to man lots woman little.

First of all I want to see data that is broken down into socioeconomic status groups before coming to any conclusions (although stay at home fathers is much more likely a middle to upper middle socio economic thing).

Yes but then again statistically those who shave every day also get more sex. There are lots of statistics to be thrown around :p

Not in my case because part of my womans job is to satisfy me sexually as many times as I desire.

You really need to rethink your ideals, they smack of those of a pure chauvanistic pig.
That's not true at all.

There are a number of theories in masculist discourse which explain and justify men being less prominent in the house. But instead of quoting these, I'll just state that in my household, my father does FAR more housework than my mother, as well as working 16 hour days with the Railways. This is true of many households, and my suspicion is that the statistic is flawed.

I hate nazi, feminist propaganda bullshit. Honestly.

The crap I was reading in the SMH said that even if the father is stay at home, the mother still does 70% of the domestic duties. Bullshit, who'd they survey? I'd be interested to know where they get their statistics from.

I'd personally rather to do the domestic work at home, atleast that way I'd know it would be getting done, or done properly for that matter.

In Other News

Presenting the Coalition's brand new $5,000 house cleaning bonus. Peter Costello says that men should, "get laid once for themselves, once for their woman, and once for their country". Whether those statistics are flawed or whether they aren't, everyone is arguing on the assumption that both genders are equal, with no differences in needs, wants, likes or dislikes. Assuming that those statistics are accurate perhaps women clean more because they feel a need to, whilst mean don't?

Anyway, the research conducted for that survey - I bet, consisted of something like.

SMH CALLS HOUSE

HOUSEWIFE : Helllllooooo, are you the pool boy?

SMH : No. How much house work do you do?

HOUSEWIFE : ALL OF IT! MY HUSBAND IS A LAZY SHIT AND HE SMELLS FUNNY.

*slam*

SMH : Hrm, smells funny, there's an idea for our next survey.

Shit research like this pisses me off, especially when said surveys are quoted as if they actually carry weight.

You won't be saying that when you're stuck in the kitchen baking brownies one day, with your hubby on the couch with a VB.

I would be suprised if there is 35 hours of housework and errands a week to do (5 days, 8 hours, hour off for lunch :p). Possibly with a child but as far as I can remember my mum was never doing that much housework.

Also the males traditionally do all the yard work, and basic repairs around the house.

I could never be a stay at home person, and I wouldn't want any partner to be either (the increase in cash would be nice) but then again I dont want a huge house with a large yard etc :p

I can see how you misunderstood what I was saying. I forgot to include the laundry, they are also allowed there.
oh wonderful, because I'm itching to wash socks and underwear. I don't want to earn money or smash glass ceilings, like, at all, because that's just not as fun.

many men in this thread are extremely chauvanistic... in my house my parents are barely here... therefore i do all the work... and i have a brother, sister and 3 half sisters... its not very fun and i would neva expect a man to be chauvanistic and expect me to be barefoot and pregnant in the kitchen...

though i cannot help but say... "Get In The Kitchen And Make Me Pie"...
