Home - keys2drive - 6 months on P's, zero harm

# L1-P1

keys2drive is an Australia-wide education program for new drivers, their
supervisors, and driving instructors working together towards the goal of
zero harm in the first six months of P plate driving. It aims to make newly
licensed driving much safer.
This item kicked off (December 15, 2004) as part of the then federal governments
plan for a "National Driver Training Scheme", which has developed to date
into that which you see 'harmonsing' around each State and Territory as the
graduated L, P1 and P2 system, and its emphasis on the defensive driver
components.

This is an attempt to remedy some of the bad driving habits parents pass on
to their their kids. Basically, a single free lesson for ALL learning applicants across
the country, it is hoped some will then take additional
training!

This program is now running in TAS and will soon extend to other
jurisdictions.

won't do anything imo
would take more than 1 lesson for most concepts to be remembered for practice and even more to break bad habits. Good start but a pointless waste of money atm. Something like the prelearners for motorcycles is needed, even if its not free.
