Hey guys, i have to write an essay on soviet foreign policy but i am not sure what i need to write in my essay. Is it just what happened over the course from 1917-1941? any help would be appreciated

yea, i would structure it thematically based on the 4 different phases
1. 1917-21: reactionary (adhering to communist ideology, established comintern, protect national self-interest etc)
2. 1920s: normalisation (normalisation of relations, treaty of rapallo, foster global alliances)
3. 1930s: collective security (began to isolate themselves to prevent exposure)
4: 1934-39: nazi-soviet non-aggression pact (form a united front against germany)
