I've got an assignment where I have to find a 2 texts and discuss how the context of when the text was made influenced the portrayal of the ways of thinking.
Because of this I decided to do an older and a more recent one, but I am having trouble finding a film that relates to the topic that fits the range (1948-1989).
I was thinking of doing a film on the Vietnam war, but I'm scared that it won't relate that well to my other text which is on nuclear war.
You do you think it will be OK to do a WW2 film even though it was before the cold war?

I think you should be okay with this. I study Catch-22 as a core text and it's not related at all to the cold war, BUT it did relate to After the Bomb ways of thinking. I actually think doing a text on world war two could be beneficially because you could show the ways of thinking within the breadth of the entire 'After the Bomb' period. Make sure you're text relates directly to ways of thinking and you're not just using it because it's about WW2.
