Hey guys i need help with this quote from Peter Skyrznecki's 'Crossing the Red Sea'

'Voices left their caves
And silence fell from its shackles,'

Im finding it hard to identify a technique to this quote. The quote is basically saying that the immigrants are now able to freely talk and give their own opinion as they were silenced in the past and were not given freedom of speech. Please help me asap in putting a technique to this quote!

Thanks in advance!

yeah thats what I also initially thought but i dont know, everytime i look at it i dont see it as personification but theyre not necessarily giving 'caves' human characteristics.. its more like using caves to represent the humans speech, or something like that. So anymore ideas? lol

Voices left their caves

I was thinking that voices was being personified cuz they were 'leaving' their caves.

You could always pick another quote. :p
