An electrolyte conducts because it contains mobile ions which can move freely in the bulk. One can imagine in when you increase the concentration of ions in an electrolyte the flow, you are essentially increasing the ability of the solution to conduct (it's much like reducing the resistance of your electrolyte) therefore the current will increase in an electric field with a constant potential.

On a mathematical point of view, [electrolyte] is proportional to the conductivity of a solution, which determines the ability of the solution to conduct an electrical current.

Is the experiment in Prelim or HSC? Hmm... Either way, there is an experiment about this somewhere along the line.
