Somewhere in the burn process, you will most probably have to specify that you want to create a bootable disk. I share you pain i know what its like. I havn't used imgburn, but if its anything like magiciso, then when you go to place the iso onto the disk, you have to tell it to "load boot image".

no no no

$20 says the torrent did not contain a rar file but an iso file that opened in winrar

grab that iso file and burn it using the image burning app of your choice

if it was really a rar file then
a. that's dumb
b. stuff

ok so i got to this point (in creating an image from the files):

and now i dont know what to select in those options.
If i arrow down on Emulation Type i get the following selections: None (custom), Floppy Disk (1.20MB), Floppy Disk (1.44MB), Floppy Disk (2.88MB), Hard Disk.

im guessing i leave that at none.

the other 4 things i dont know. anyone got some idea? (i have like 5 blank dvd's left, lol)

edit: and yea runoutofsleep, i thought maybe thats what actually happened, but im looking at the original files now, there's an activation folder (which contains windows 7 toolkit 1.8, hehe), A 3.147666GB RAR FILE, and some nfo file.

You're on the right track. Choose 'Hard Disk' as the emulation option and you're set. Just burn that ISO file onto a DVD at a good, slow speed and it will work.
The other options you can leave as they are.

according to the link, i keep the Emulation Type at None (custom).

look at it, its very thorough and makes me excited and i want to try it out instead of studying for tomorrow's test, lol.
