as the title says, i'm really struggling to decide on what subject to drop for the rest of y12. for context, my current subjects are eng adv, maths adv, legal, modern, and chem, and i did business accelerated last year so i have 2 hsc units complete. this means i can drop a class and only do 4 subjects, however i still haven't done this yet. i did the first assessment for my all classes (other than business obviously) so i could decide what subject to drop based on marks, however this only narrowed it down to 2 classes to potentially drop, these being modern or chem, as the marks were pretty similar, getting 25/30 for modern and 24.5/30 for chem (though this task was mainly a prac skills task with elements of theory, so the result doesn't help me very much).
based on these marks plus scaling consideration, i was going to drop modern, but after looking at past papers for both subjects and attempting questions for content we've learnt, i was struggling with chem, whereas modern i found much easier. also, i enjoy modern more, and feel i'd put more effort into doing well in it compared to chem. after asking around a bit and doing some more research, i'm currently leaning toward dropping chem, but i would appreciate any advice or opinions on the matter.
tldr: do i drop chem or modern, similar marks for first assessment but prefer modern and struggled with chem hsc questions
