when i read this question i did not hav any clue how to do it . can anyone help?

Q) Find the volume of the solid formed when the region bounded by the y-axis and the curve y= x + e^x between x=0 and x=1 is rotated about the x-axis.

Are you sure it's the region bounded by the y-axis plus the curve and not the x-axis and the curve?

Required volume
=volume of cylinder (r=1+e, h=1) - definite integral(0,1) pi(x+e^x)^2
=pi(1+e)^2 - definite integral(0,1) pi(x^2+e^(2x)+2xe^x)
etc.

:) :)
