Need help with deciding 2MP camera phone (1 Viewer)

Despite the vast range of phones available on the market, my choices arent.

I am looking for a phone that has a good quality 2 megapixel camera built in,
the Sony Ericsson K750i sounds like a good choice, but I do believe one of you may be able to help me on the endeavour of purchasing a new 2MP camera phone.

MP3 capability isn't necessary to me, but it is a nice addition, but unfortunately dragging up the price, as almost all 2MP phones probably come with MP3 capabilities.

Here are the Exceptions:

- Must not be a Motorola phone
- Must not be a Sagem phone
- Definitely not an LG phone
- Must not cost over $600

To be honest with u - if you are willing to pay up to $600:
-2mp camera is shit - go buy 4mp dedicated digital camera for around $150+ if you want more pixels then suit yourself:

MP3 for mobile phones - is brillaint motorole E398 is gud, so are the SE walkman's series nokia 6230i is ideal. Its worth it rather forking up another $300 for mp3 portable player.

if not (if u already have a mp3 player)- sagem phones are brilliant - gud user interace ease of use good battery life. Otherwise nokia should do fine.


Avoid clamshells and sliding phones - bulky and ugly.

hotshot mate ur a deadset moron, not only did he specificaly say no motorolas, but the e398 isn't even available any more, and it's a shit phone, and only VGA camera. and sagem phones have a terrible user interface and they are ugly as all fuck.


anyway i think go with the k750i, or the walkman version of it (w800i - pretty much exact same phone but with bigger memory card, different colour, and comes with earphones etc). i had the w800i and it was definitely the best phone i ever owned, and the picture quality of these two phones (k750/w800) is fantastic. you should be able to pick the k750 up for around $400.

I agree Sagem phones are ugly, also, they cost a lot less than they should be, no-one sells lemonade for 5 cents unless something is wrong with it.
I deliberately excluded Motorolas because they were known to not function at all sometimes.

So, where can I get a k750i handset only (no plans....) for $400 ?

Can't remember the model but I think it might be 6280? It's the sliding Nokia with a normal UI (not s60) but tall screen and 2mp camera. Pretty nice phone but I don't like the slider mechanism on it.

My pick would be the Samsung D600. The 2mp camera is decent enough for a cameraphone, but it's not really that good. If your top priority is camera, then go for the SonyEricsson k750/w800/w810/etc which has an autofocus mechanism... but bear in mind, they have horrible interfaces which are unstable (even with the f/w updates), difficult to use, and very slow. Judging by the fact you don't like Moto phones either, you probably won't like SE that much. Samsung and Nokia have very similar UIs in terms of left softkey goes forward (or centre), and right goes back.

I'll put it this way; when I carry the w800i. It's only for one of two reasons.
1. My iPod and d600 are charging (nb. the d600's decent as a basic mp3 player, but the Sony sounds alot better with megabass and better headphones)
2. I need a decent camera AND a phone, but cbf to carry both. If the camera was going to be used to take normal photos outdoors (in good light, at a bit of a distance), then the D600 camera is fine. It's only when it's up close that the w800i's autofocus is very important. The w800i also has a more useful flash than the D600- the D600's flash works, but not that well.

The only good 2MP camera phones are the Sony ones since they have auto-focus. It makes a lot of difference when taking photos.

It is quite usable as a phone, no real fancy features. Just a standard "feature phone".

Nokia 6280 = sex. However I sold mine because the customisability of my Motorola v3i destroys that of any of the Nokia offerings.

Speaking of "sex", that's the same phone someone tried to show me porn on ...

how much does the Nokia 6280 cost, no plans ?

I have a SE w800i and it's pretty crappy. The camera takes a picture 3 seconds after u press the button. The phone sometimes just randomly screws up and you have to restarted again. It's a pain. I seen my friends with a N70, they are pretty dam good.
