Hey everyone,

So say my school is ranked in the bottom 50's (600's) and I have the following ranks:
Marks below are what I think i'll get but my teachers told me i'd low 90's for ipt and society and culture & english would be high 80's
IPT - 85% - 1-2/60
Society and culture 88% - 4/12
STD English - 84% 1-3/80
Retail - 80% 1-3/18
Modern History - 77% 6/18
Gen Maths - 74% 21/80

Not sure why my school is ranked so low, I honestly beleive we have quite an intellectual year :(.

Just wondering how much the rank of the school is going to affect my UAI...

I'm hoping for high 70's for Business & Commerce @ UWS.

You will never be affected by your previous school rank. The rank is just a rough indication of your present year's capacity, since they generally vary a little.
If your year is really an "intellectual year", then I don't see how it could affect you.

I seem to doubt the actual ability of "intellectual" year of a 600+ ranked school. It might boost them to 500s.

Rank of your school will not affect your UAI, just that it reflects your cohort's ability in the state.

I had the oppurtunity to go to Freeman Catholic College (Who are ranked in the 80's) but I turned it down as I didn't know that these thing actually mattered. I kept telling myself that if I did good then there was no way I could be dragged down :(. (I hope what you guys say is true)

I feel like an idiot, If I had known this earlier I would have gone.

Could you guys give me a rough estimation of what my UAI is going to look like?

Thx for the replies :).

Well going to that school would do little. Because you are not coming first in your current school anyway, which reflects your ACTUAL ability. You are not better off getting close to last in a highly ranked school than you are now.

I would say mid-high 80s.
