It's possible, but humorous/satirical things are always harder to get past markers because you have to make sure they know it's funny.. without actually telling them 'laugh here'.

Easiest humour to derive comes from satirical stuff.. but then you have to be careful not to offend (too many) people.. that sort of thing. Well, don't offend markers :p

In the end they have to mark you on content as well, dont forget. :uhhuh:

Hey Nick,

I'm doing a comedy for my major work
It's a satirical piece... a film script
Yeh my research has been watching tonnes
of movies and tv shows, and a script writing
course.
But i hope it's actually funny.
Well it cracks me up....

What were you thinking of doing?

Whoa dude.

A fantasy story is REALLY hard to do within 8000 words. The only person I've read that has done it is Rould Dahl and he was a genius.

Its too hard to set up the world, beliefs, characters and plot in a short story.

You could try a plain story with elements of fantasy but thats about it.

well its not gonna be terribly elaborate fantasy, just a fictional world.. not like a new race of creatures and all that.. my teacher said lots of ppl do that kind of thing and thought itd work good..

Ok mate.

Its just I wanted to do the same thing but my teacher swayed me away. One of her students tryed it last year and realised a week before it was due that it wouldn't work in the end.
