yeah,
it is not a new syllabus but it hjas an added element. you do ebverything you used to do
- personality in their time
- ancienty society
- historical period
- and one of teacher choice
but now every body has a set CORE STUDY on Pompeii and Hercualneum.
go to
www.boardofstudies.edu.nsw.au and look up the syllabuds there for HSC 2006
It is a new syllabus.
There are changes in many of the topics, some have been deleted and others have been modified e.g. the Rome societies have all been dropped.
Please read the new syllabus and make sure you are using the right one - to be examined for the first time in 2006.
The syllabus clearly sets out the type of question you can be asked in each section as well as the content to be examined and the structure of the assessment programme for the course.
What you study is:
Core study
1 historical period
1 society
1 personality
The confusion over the last section has gone. The paper will be less bulky.
Some schools have been more affected than others. If, like me you did a Roman Society, you have to change an historical period AND a society while others simply have to change either a society or period depending what the fourth topic was.
The BOS also has a copy of the Specimen Paper, which has also been sent to schools.
