To answer a few questions:
- The new iPod mini (Gen 2) is $299 for a 4G model. You can get this for 10% less at Apple resellers (such as the one on the UNSW campus)
- The old iPod mini (Gen 1) is being sold off cheap, but is not worth it, as it has a battery life FAR worse than the Gen 2 model
- You can tell the difference in 3 main ways.
-- 1) The new iPod mini come in only 4 colors, and the pink, blue and green are far more "bright" than Gen 1
-- 2) The new iPod mini's have COLOURED scroll wheel icons.
-- 3) The capacity (4G or 6G) is engraved on the back of the new mini's
