I agree.

It is potentially useful, but to keep it being used correctly is too difficult for what its worth. Post counts can already give a rough indication of a poster's reputation.
VERY rough indication - I've only just reached 150 and I would like to think some of my posts have been helpful - esp. in CAFS and SAC forums. Just cos you have over so many posts, doesn't mean to say you're not a spammer.....

We already take care of spam as much as we can by deleting them. Quite a bit of spam comes from NS, which doesn't count towards post counts.

Is there anyway to find out who gives you the + or - reputation points?

If you have a serious complaint with a rep given, PM Minai, flyin',anti or the admins. Otherwise no.

I don't really care if it stays or goes, but atm it's definitely being misused. For example, I've got a few neg reps that have had nothing to do with the post itself, but are just random abuse. This whole "I've repped you now you rep me" I believe is the main reason certain members (who shall remain nameless, youknowwhoyouare) have huge amounts of rep now. Also its going to encourage people to spam more, not only to up their post count but now also to up their repping power.

But as I said, I'm not losing sleep over it.

hmm..
i think that the moderators should discuss this between themselves, whether the reputation system is appropriate
it shouldn't really matter so much with what we think, because just alot of people go on rep sprees, though some are encouraging , others are just spam..anyways i think we should lay the matter of rep points to rest as Loz #1 said

under my name there is a scale thing.

click it. scale = judgement. so you basically can judge if my post was helpful, you approve, otherwise disapprove.
you can also leave a commment if you wish.

give it a try and give me a good rep*

*- dont really have to :p

i think its stupid.

basing people on 'reputation'

let people post whatever they want wherever they want.

what are its benefits.

reputation = sad

i wanted to post my major work but my 'reputation' wasnt good enuf....

People are bagging me out (and others i know) through the reputation system. I get the occaisional bad mouth from some random person. Its really unfair especially if you dont know who its coming from.

I think it is because your major work is too big (ie. >98k)

not because of rep.

lol yeah that's more plausible, rep has nothing to do with what you can post
