fannys and mercury are the only places you really have to pay, but they're free on wednesday nights anyway

great northern and customs house are the best though, i'll be there tonight with my dancing shoes on

Most of the Newcastle clubs are good. As "um.." said, you have to pay to get into Fanny's ($10 I think), Mercury ($?) and you also have to pay to get into Surf City ($5). Frostbites and Fanny's are OK, but you are better off staying around The Great Northern and Customs House (that's where you will find most of the younger people):).

FANNYS IS BEST, go fannys.
frosties is for bumpkins and their music is terrible is outdated and unfashionable.

it also attracts unsavoury men and women who look like unsavoury men.
this post is funny on at least three different levels

The brewery is alright too. It has nice view and you can climb the big penis if you're bored.

I like the Brewery, but tend to find it has older people. I swear I'm going to climb that knob one night!
Fannys...pft, if you don't mind full on sleaze, its umm ok
Frosties...one of my faves
Northern...another fave
Customs...good for sitting and talking in the middle of the night when your feet are sore
Surf City...thank god its closed
Merc...techno crap
Finnos...lovely bouncer, good atmosphere, although there havent been enough people dancing when I've been there for me to get up

Still on my list: King St (when I'm old), ducks nuts, lucky

Bastards, I was so excited when I got a half price drink thingo off some guy. I was expecting a $1.25 schooner and what's that? $1.80? How can you put the price by over $1 in one hit?
IMO The Grand is pretty good if you go down stairs to the dance floor, as long as they don't put prices up again.

where is central coastish?
I officially live in the Hunter but am in the last town before the Central Coast. I prefer to represent the CC so I say Central Coastish. I go to TAFE in Gosford so I spend most of my time on the Central Coast. FWIW the last town in the Hunter is Morisset.
