Do we need to flash the DS if we have the "Passkey"? And conversely, do we need the "Passkey" if we don't flash the DS?

So that means all up, I'll need a flashed DS or passkey, the GBA cartridge thing with sd support, and the sd card?

1)No, the passkey+default firmware is sufficient to act like a flashed one. problem is ure DS slot is occupied.

2)yes, otherwise the DS' default firmware will not run the unsigned code like homebrews.

3)yes, you will need 3 things.([flashed DS] or [passkey + non-flashed DS]/ the GBA cartridge thing with sd or CF or miniSD support/ and appropriate card)

commonly ppl just get 1 passkey and share it around and flash all their DS's... u can revert to a non-flashed state if necessary...
DS customisation is more fun because its innovative due to of the touch screen.. the PSP mods are more intrusive too and mainly about beefing it up.
